Maisie's Story

the reason behind my friend maisie is our daughter maisie! our daughter was born term but suffered from complications during her delivery causing lack of oxygen to the brain and subsequently HIE (hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy). when we left the NICU we were told she would have a 75% chance of cerebral palsy so when we received the diagnosis at 6 months old we were not at all surprised. what has been surprising is the community that has come with this diagnosis- from other kids with CP and their families, to her doctors and therapists and beyond. navigating the healthcare system as a parent has had its challenges but has also come so many blessings. our goal is for our daughter to wear her diagnosis as a badge of honor and for our community to wear this brand to bring awareness to her diagnosis and to honor all of the kids and families we have met through our journey. my friend maisie was founded to help us ease some of our financial stress while also giving back to our community. 10% of our proceeds will go directly to non profit organizations that help kids with differences, disabilities, and diagnoses.
